Our Community

At Discovery at Play, we aim to raise little people to become positive and engaged members of society. We model this by actively collaborating with the sounding community and providing assistance wherever possible. Community connections give children a sense of belonging, help them develop social skills and teach them how to support those in need.

Our centres often plan community events that encourage families to connect with one another and the wider region. We believe it’s of vital importance to give back to those less fortunate, and we regularly organise fundraisers and donations for charity. Lastly, we know the importance of promoting small businesses, and are continually looking for ways to strengthen our ties to local organisations and cultural groups.

Discovery at Play Shoalwater Open Day: 11th of October 2025

Located in the heart of Shoalwater in Perth’s south, Discovery at Play invited families to explore its newest purpose-built facility on October 11.

Unveiled by owners Phyllis and Vijay Narula, Phyllis has built a reputation for creating nurturing, community-driven centres that focus on the wellbeing and development of every child across almost two decades.

“It’s been an extreme challenge, but to see that hard work pay off is incredibly rewarding,” Phyllis said.

“This new centre represents everything I’m passionate about — high-quality care, genuine connection, and building spaces that inspire children to grow and explore.”

The centre is expected to create new employment opportunities for educators and support staff in the region, strengthening the area’s early education capacity.
